Miami Valley Christian Academy focuses on five pillars of student experience: Discipleship, Academics, Service, Life Skills, and Extracurriculars. We strive for excellence across the domains, seeking to provide student experiences that equip our learners to make a difference in the world.
Discipleship
Upper School students participate daily in Bible/Discipleship courses. As part of our Bible courses, students discuss, pray, and engage with Scripture. Weekly chapel and worship services, breakout by gender groups, and Biblical integration throughout the curriculum help us keep a primary focus on spiritual development.
Academics
In addition to core classes, MVCA offers a variety of electives to help students grow in areas they are passionate about. We offer Traditional, Honors, Advanced Placement (AP), and College Credit Plus (CCP) courses as well as unique electives, including programs such as Professional Academy, where students intern with teachers, maintenance managers, IT personnel and more to learn skills needed for the professions in which they may be interested.
Service
All Upper School students are required to complete service hours each quarter. Our students engage in service opportunities both at MVCA and apart from the Academy. Middle school learners complete 20 hours of service each year while high school learners complete 30 hours each year.
Life Skills
MVCA believes in connecting students with “real life” experiences and helping them acquire skills that will lead to success beyond our walls. Students are not only trained to demonstrate traits such as respect, self-advocacy, and professionalism, but they are also given opportunity to engage in hands-on, real-life experiences, including travel and service.
Extracurriculars
